Greetings, Vegan Beauty Recommendation and a Sale Alert

Greetings to everyone

I wanted to alert you to a few things.

1. Good Guys is having a deal of sorts. With the code SUMMERLOVE you can get free shipping which actually translates to about $50 off if you live in the US. Not bad! I got a pair of their light pink oxfords and I can’t wait. Will definitely post pics when I get them.

2. Somewhere on Facebook I came across the quote by William James “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does”.

Does it? I think it does as well.

One thing I’m interested in lately is which makeup companies test on animals. I recently saw a discussion on Facebook about it. From what I gathered, it is often hard to tell. Companies won’t tell you whether they do or not, however if their products are made in China, they are REQUIRED to test on animals. Animal testing for cosmetics–what is the point. It goes without saying that it is disturbing and cruel.

I have come across a great company recently though that is loudly and proudly 100% Vegan and cruelty free.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic Lip Tars.

They are like lipsticks but come in a little tube with a brush. You just use the tiniest dot from the tube, put it on your lips with the brush and it dries on your lips, so it doesn’t smudge and you can kiss someone or eat or drink and not worry about it. They’re amazing! I want all the colors.

They also come in a lot of crazy colors and I hear their black lipstick is especially good.

Beauty bloggers and vloggers love these things–I think it’s growing in popularity which is great. They also sell vegan makeup brushes, eye shadows, and foundations.

Just thought I’d let you know. I got two colors Femme (a light barbie pink) and Vintage (a great deep red).

4 Cool Vegan Shoes…Vegan Heels, Vegan Uggs, Vegan Wedges and Vegan Workman’s Boots

I found these vegan heels at urban outfitters. Very cute. And the heel is not too high which is good for me who is already tall and likes to kick up my heels and dance.

Anyone for some faux suede uggs? I would enjoy wearing these for apres-ski whatever that means. I know it means after-skiing, but I believe it’s a whole lifestyle as well… that includes hot-tubing, drinking hot chocolate and partying at the ski lodge. These vegan uggs can be found at Old Navy for an excellent price.

I think (vegan) Uggs are cool. I have heard people say “Uggs are so hideous! One can never be sexy wearing ze uggs.” All I can say to them, is U R Crazy. Of course you can be sexy wearing VEGAN faux suede uggs. These are the people who say the same thing about crocs–a great vegan shoe.

These are the shoes I really really want. These vegan Worker Boots are from a collab with vegan companies Novacas and Brave Gentleman, and unforch cost $250. But they are gorgeous. And I have them in black and wear them every day. You can buy them at Mooshoes.

That reminds me….if any men are reading this blog, if you are looking for some really cool shoes, check out this aforementioned collaboration. They have some really cool shoes…Also check out Good Guys Don’t Wear Leather, and you will probably be set for vegan shoes.

Speaking of Good Guys, a shoe of theirs has really been growing on me. At first I thought it was very odd, but now I see how it looks great.

Worn by this super cool french blogger.

I want them in navy. They can be found for people in the US at mooshoes, and for others…at the good guys online shop.

Alright…any vegan shoes that are COOL that you guys have heard about of late?

Well, I have to give you a little update on me before I end this post.

I have been drinking green smoothies daily after doing that amazing interview with Natalie from OutletforFoodPicturesOCD, and following her advice to read Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko, a book which seems to inspire every one who reads it to rush to make a green smoothie asap.

I have also been extremely vegan, whereas before I tried to be mostly vegan, for the past week after reading one too many books on the reasons why things like the dairy and egg industries are not at all what I thought they were.

Yay for me.

I got an adorable comment from someone who says their dress code requires leather shoes and they used my blog to find similar non leather shoes.

Happy Monday? How are you?

facts about me

Hi guys,

I

(selfie)

have been nominated for an award by a wonderful commenter. I’ve always longed to connect with other bloggers and get one of these awards, and now, through this blog, I have! Someone has awarded me

the beautiful blogger award.

The heart swells with pride. How awesome! Thanks you from the bottom o’ my heart, Amber. I love connecting with other people who happen to be reading this speck of dust in the COSMOS that is my vegan blog.

You have to list 6 random facts about yourself.

I really need to do this anyway since more people are reading the blog than ever before, and liking the blog on facebook where I am posting some maja cute animal vids and animal related news (LIKE MOI!!!) … so I should more properly introduce myself.

Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre goes………………………………

Random Fact # 1.

One of my passions in life…besides blogging and observing the animal kingdom…is….POLE DANCING. Yes, you read that right. I have been taking classes at Sheila Kelley’s S Factor for maybe a year and 1/2, and it has changed my life. I go all the time. It is such a wonderful form of creative expression and it has given me the ability to freestlyle dance to express myself whenever I want. It has also allowed me to exercise in a majorly fun way, but it is so much more than that. For some reason pole dancing really changes your mental attitude in so many ways. It taught me to appreciate being a woman, KNOW I am beautiful, and know that I have no need to doubt my inner hotness–whereas before I was quite insecure. I tell everyone I know they should do it—even the men in my life LOL I know pole dancing might still sound controversial to some, but once you try it, you will see how wrong everyone is about it, and like me, you might come to reevaluate what you thought you once knew about how pole dancing is for LOOSE WOMEN and how it is wrong for a woman to have the audacity to be interested in anything remotely sexual..or should I say sensual…. in public… LOVE IT!

Random Fact # 2

I have 6 siblings–5 sisters, and 1 6 year old brother. How adorable. It is great to have so many sisters…and a brother. It seems like a lot, but I wish I had 10 more. The only down side is…there is only so much parental attention to go around. However, this is a trade I would gladly accept again if it were actually offered to me….which it will never be since it has already happened. Mind blown?!!

Random Fact # 3

I have yet another passion in life. And that is blogging on yet another blog. This is my personal blog where I write all about my life…and post PICTURES…thousands of pictures…in picture poems…I call Picture Stories.

Basically they are combinations of photos and captions which express my feelings about life. I have compiled 7 magazines of these Picture Stories which I fittingly call Picture Stories Magazine…and I am so proud of them.

(n image from Picture Stories Volume 4: Night Thoughts)

They are gorgeous, and sometimes I like to stare longingly at them wishing I could enter into the pages. I have a facebook page for them HERE which you can like and where you can purchase the mags and also view many photos of the pages in the mag. My magazine is truly a labor of love and has, along with dancing, given me a creative outlet–so important…everyone should have one. Art is a beautiful beautiful thing. So many things to love about it. Oh one thing…beware cause some of the pictures are NSFW! Art is never appropriate…so they say….

Random Fact # 4

Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. DOGS.

Dogs were one of my first loves. I had 2 growing up. They would both sleep on my twin bed. How adorable. I think dogs made me understand that animals, like stars, are truly just like US.

They get scared, they love, they have personalities…blah blah blah…so obvious!!!

Dogs are incredible, magical creatures. We should worship them, like the Egyptians worshipped cats.

Random Fact # 5

I am scared of cats. I like them, but never having grown up with them, I don’t understand their violent ways. They bite for fun? They are so unpredictable…I am always on edge with a cat nearby. My friends make fun of me because I know so little about cats. What can I say.

Random Fact # 6

I long to own a business some day. I think entrepreneurs and people who start business are great. So inspiring. If only more people in the world did their own thing, followed their own callings, how many more awesome things would we have in life….so much more awesome. However, I know from personal experience how difficult it is to start a biz. I tried to start a vegan shoe company!!!! and it was very hard and eventually I gave up…or should I say, took a break to come up with a new plan of attack. I will perhaps write a post on that later. SO much respect for people who did it, like all the companies I feature on this blog!

well that’s 6!!!

If there is anything else you would like to know about little old MOI please comment on this post and I will answer….ask away my dearies… I love to be asked questions.

Thanks so much to the beautiful blogger amber for giving me this award. May you blog for a hundred more years.

If you have a blog will you leave a comment with the name of your blog…consider yourself nominated…do this challenging challenge of listing 6 random facts about yourself and send me a link to your blog so I can know who Y’all are!!

Oh yeah…one more thing.

Happy WEEKEND BABY!

Breaking News: An Exclusive Tell-All Interview With a Brilliant and Inspiring Vegan Blogger

(all pictures from outletforfoodpicturesocd)

Today I have a very awesome post to share.

The other day a commenter left a comment on my blog and I clicked through to find her blog outletforfoodpictureocd.

There I saw such things as this:

this

and this

I read through all the archives and was extremely inspired.

I found that this blogger, by name of Natalie, is a vegan who eats mostly raw and her blog is full of  pics of all the extremely healthy and fresh looking food and green juice she makes and musings on her extensive reading about raw foods and the power of leafy green vegetables.

There was just something about this blog–it had a kind of magical infectious spirit. The pictures were so vibrant and light filled. I started feeling like, why aren’t I doing this. I could do this…..Well, before I knew it I was asking to interview this woman.

Some backstory: for a while now a desire has been percolating in my mind. The desire to be vegan. Well, I am only vegetarian now, but as I learn more about animal rights (recently I have been watching a lot of films and videos of disturbing and sad things relating to animals), I really want to go fully vegan again. I have also been inspired by the adorable guy I am dating who drinks like a fridge full of vegetables for dinner every night to eat more vegetables. His green smoothies taste really good, but I’ve made some pretty bad smoothies in my life. My smoothie confidence was at an all time low.

Enter Natalie.

I am thrilled to be able to offer you this interview. This interview cleared up many of the questions I had been dying to know answers to and had even tried to google…but with no results.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Some quick things I learned from the interview before letting you read the whole thing yourself:

1. Don’t wrack your brains thinking about how you can GO Vegan all the time. Simply, try eating healthier and you may be almost vegan before you know it.

2. Eating Raw does not have to be super complicated. Drink a green juice for breakfast and eat a salad for lunch and you have two meals out of the way.

3. Get Victoria Boutenko’s book “Green For Life” about green smoothies, and check out Ani Phyo  or Matthew Kenny (people and books Natalie recommends)

Well without further ado, as I always say, I am honored to present to you My Non Leather Life’s (the new name of this blog if you hadn’t noticed) first interview.

And check out Natalie’s blog for more in depth musings.

The Interview:

hi victoria! thanks so much for checking out my blog! and thanks so much for the questions! ^_^ xo natalie

1. What is your name, and how did you get into your diet? Have you always been this healthy or did you one day decide to make a big change in your life and change everything.

my name is natalie and my diet has continuously evolved since slowly going vegetarian 14 years ago. i still marvel at how i used to make fun of my vegetarian friend in high school as the concept was so alien to me, and now that i’m a mostly raw vegan, i remind myself that this diet is quite alien to most others! i started eating raw foods almost exclusively (and recognizing my eating habits with a “raw” label) about 2.5 years ago. and funny enough, i found myself working in a raw restaurant a few days after realizing my diet shift. at first, it began as a challenge and curiosity, but it became mostly a more conscious approach to my eating. working at the restaurant, i was surrounded by holistic nutrition students who i learned so much from. and i was eating and drinking incredible things while on shift, constantly inspired to try new things at home and share with people i was working with and meeting. i felt enlightened and though i had already been lessening my use of chemical products, i started to eliminate use of anything on my skin or body that i wouldn’t eat.

2. Was it hard to transition into your mostly raw, vegan, green juice drinking diet or was it easier than you thought. Did you have trouble knowing what to eat, and where did you learn about green juicing and how to make your meals.

it wasn’t a hard transition for me as i had been slowly changing how i was eating for years. i had worried about how i could “go vegan” for years but didn’t realize how unhealthy i had been eating as a vegetarian! i now just try to vary my fruits and vegetables as much as possible and if i am craving something (vegan!), i eat it! i really got into green smoothies earlier this year when i read victoria boutenko’s book “green smoothies for life”. she wrote about the very same raw food “plateau” i felt (feeling i needed to eat heavy foods like nuts at night, not feeling sick but not feeling super healthy because of, possibly, an imbalance of omega3s vs 6s) and her explanations for why we needed to drink our greens, and what greens are (not supplements, not broccoli, not necessarily vegetables – leaves! leafy plants!) really resonated with me. i did 30 days of green smoothies with my boyfriend (recipes documented on my blog!) and i noticed, just like victoria, my nighttime cravings disappearing. drinking a blended greens/fruit drink in the morning was as satisfying, if not more so, than anything i would consider for breakfast. that’s not to say, however, that i always do the same thing. in fact, this morning, i had some chia toast with coconut oil and a smoothie! i just go with my gut for what to eat. (ha!) i generally drink one green smoothie per day and i feel like i am getting so much more nutrition by consuming my greens in this way. i feel less anxious than i was feeling before i started the smoothies and my skin has cleared up again.

3. Did you notice any large changes in your mind set or physical well being? And if so, what were they? I’d love to know!

as soon as i went “raw”, i definitely started thinking a lot more about the “big picture” of the food and pharmaceutical industries. i became more concerned about what i was supporting with my money. i want to support local and organic as much as possible.

when i started eating “raw”, i marveled at how much “lighter” i felt, in that i felt a lot calmer but vibrant and i couldn’t believe how much of a “buzz” everything had for me. i felt like i didn’t need much sleep and i felt like my skin radiated purity. after about a year and a half, however, i was starting to snack a lot at night and i started feeling that “non-organic and/or cooked foods are poison” was not the healthiest position to take. everything in moderation, right? i started to feel that maybe some things were okay cooked and that i should switch things up a bit and try some foods i had avoided. so, now i eat more cooked things (some foods like tomatoes and spinach are supposed to be better for you cooked anyways!) and have relaxed my exclusive diet. though i definitely always prefer a raw meal or smoothie!

4. Do you have any tips or ideas on how someone who is looking to eat more raw foods and green juices could do it? (Any books or websites or methods you would recommend?)

ani phyo has been my go-to for many recipes and ideas. her recipes are super accessible. i like to take raw food books out of the library to try out before buying. i also like to google ingredients i have and get ideas from other people’s recipes. i post experiments or recipe adjustments on my blog so that i have a record if i want to try it again. i love how truly simple eating raw can be. you can keep things how they appear in nature and they taste delicious. i almost always do a smoothie (blended fruit and leafy greens with a bit of water) in the morning and have a salad for lunch at work. 5 minutes or less to prep! i was never a great cook; i mean, i can cook, but i struggle following recipes exactly and i tend to cook quite blandly. i don’t do many elaborate raw food meals but they almost always taste amazing! trial and error works so well in raw food. in a smoothie, if it’s too green or spicy/pungent (ie mustard greens!), i keep adding fruit. if my soup doesn’t turn out, i dehydrate it into a crumble to sprinkle on salad. if my crackers don’t turn out, they become topping for something else. having a mix of tastes and textures is always pleasurable, is it not? there is no burning my arm on the oven with raw food. there is no burnt pot of rice on the stove while waiting for it to “finally” cook. raw food can totally work for the people not totally conscious in the kitchen and it has a strange way of creating a consciousness in what you eat. and i find chopping vegetables super grounding and cathartic.

5. What is your favorite meal to make?

i love doing a raw chili (like ani phyo’s or matthew kenny’s) and topping it with avocado. avocado in and on everything, for sure! i make salads (er, chopped veggies) basically every day for work and i always look forward to eating them. i don’t use dressing, though sometimes i top them with raw sauerkraut. i love the tanginess with the creamy avocado. leek flower or green onion and/or fresh basil on top is heaven.

6. Please feel free to add anything you would like to share or add!

i think food should be enjoyable but also that we as a culture need to adopt more consciousness to how and why we eat. i still often eat when i’m not “officially” hungry. it seems crazy to keep pumping gas into a car that has a full tank, you know? when i first started eating raw, i thought it was all about soaking and sprouting and dehydrating and a million steps to make one meal. but really, a salad is a wonderfully nutritious meal and is so quick to prepare! and i think once you take a couple steps to simplify your diet (like eating less processed and more “real”, simple foods), the change keeps happening. like once you start drinking green smoothies, you begin to want less fruit because the leafy greens start to become sweeter on your palate. well, except maybe the mustard greens. ^_^

Natalie,

thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed. You are inspiring me, and I am sure others too, and that was so much fun.

Cool New Shoes From a Brand That’s Making Vegan Shoe Lovers Proud—-The Good Guys

Who is F.C ?

(pics from the goodguys tumblr)

Hello Everyone,

Before I begin I was wondering whether you may or may not want to LIKE the blog on facebook, since I am posting some really cute animal videos (2) and holding a “get to know you” party where we can all post pictures of ourselves with animals to introduce one another…There is already 1 person attending the get to know you party…myself…and you can see a great pic of me as a small child with a goat.

With that said,

One company I really admire is Good Guys Don’t Wear Leather. I have written about them before here and here in my Top Ten Vegan Shoe Essentials.

Well they have come out with new shoes for Fall.

They are so great, I can’t even believe they are vegan. I trust them though– no conspiracy theories or anything.

In my opinion, these are definitely the coolest vegan shoes for men out there. With the exception of these workman’s boots I wrote about. And of course, they are cool for women too.

Desert Boots. I am attracted to boys who wear these…sigh.

Ayita Brandy

They have them in grey, olive, brandy and black.

Can you believe these are non leather.

Ok. Here are my other favorite picks.

aponi navy

blue suede shoes much? Very cool.

aponi brandy

workout black

Also these. Wasn’t sure about them. But they look really cool on this girl.

Meet Helga Wretman !

Well, they’re great. Male readers, you can find cool shoes here and now my blog has served its purpose–to help people find vegetarian and vegan shoes which are actually cool.

One problem. They’re quite pricey, which stopped me from buying those cool pink and turquoise ones they had this spring–and now they are sold out. Dumb. My feelings are– this is the kind of vegan company we need more of. We need more of all kinds, but I love this one. These shoes are as beautiful as leather shoes…more so, with this awesome badge of being “a good guy” on the bottom of your shoes and the feeling that you are not wearing a tortured animal. I feel I need to support this company, and the price is justified.

Keep up the good work, good guys.

Also I love their tumblr. Their tumblr really makes you understand the look they are going for with these shoes. It’s old school, california surfer, lords of dogtown, rock and roll, fifties, sixties, french movies, L.A, the Wild West, Woody Allen–to name a few themes I spotted. I LOVE their inspirations. I can see it really expanding into an awesome brand. I’m a fan.

What do you think of them. Do any of you guys own a pair and want to tell me how shipping was etc, and what they’re like?

Find me on facebook if you want to connect. Happy Tuesday!

A Candy Pink Vegan Bag and the Style of a Dreamy Parisian Blogger

There is this blogger by the name of MakingMagique, well, her real name I believe is Haleigh.

Wow, her blog is incredible. Not only does she take amazing photography, but she seems to have an amazing life. She has an incredible apartment in Paris which she has remade and redecorated with beautiful things, an incredible wardrobe, awesome style, great photography skills, cool friends…it is so fun to check out her blog.

It makes me wish everything I owned was beautiful and awesome. A Dolce Vita, a Non Leather Life, if you will, of beautiful but cruelty free things. One day, I will have a company perhaps providing awesome non leather things so that we can all look as cool as this blogger.

She has very girly style and loves pastel pink and blue. She has this amazing pink bag that she carries all the time in her photos….of course it is leather, but I found a non leather look alike (sort of–well it reminded me of it) on modcloth in non leather and I thought I’d share some pics of her awesome style from her blog. However, I couldn’t pick just a few pics, and have included all of my favorites. Check out her blog–there are far more where that came from.

Here is the bag of the wonderful aforementioned blogger:

And here is my vegan lookalike I found for you:

Modcloth Practical in Pink Bag $54.99

Sort of?

Anyway, I tried to share a ton of pics of her inspiring style, but none of them seemed to show up on this blog. Therefore go to my other blog, where I posted them as well, to see many many pics of my favorite outfits of hers. You won’t be sorry you checked out these outfits. Or simply go straight to the source–her blog.

Also, if you want to, like this blog on Facebook because I have a fun thing I want to do that I can only do on facebook involving photos of ourselves and our animal inspirations, that I will be writing about in the next post.

Your thoughts? Hehe. <3

A Cool Vegan Fashion Blogger and Thoughts on Why It’s Considered Silly to be Interested in Style

I recently got a comment from a blogger who has recently turned fully vegan from vegetarian. She has super cool style! She is from England. I think fashion bloggers are really cool. To start a fashion blog you have really put yourself out there. You have to get over so much self criticism, thinking you are self absorbed, ditzy, silly, or stupid for being interested in creating your own style and thinking about how you want to look. You open yourself up to criticism about your body, looks and taste.

I think fashion and especially personal style is art. I love when people overcome their reservations and put themselves out there. I love to observe people’s style. I think it is our sexist culture that has made women feel that it is stupid to be interested in fashion or style. Or at least that’s how I felt until I realized that there was nothing wrong with being interested in style and having a vegan fashion blog. What do you think. Have you ever felt bad about being interested in style or fashion?
Check out this vegan’s inspirational style. Her blog is ScheuScheu, and thanks for alerting me to your blog Emily!

Vegan Workman’s Boots and a Cool Tomboy Blogger Who Works Them

awkward impromptu photoshoot by photographer @rafaelrios28 at #1992 - follow him @rafaelrios28 (Taken with Instagram)A cool style I have been into lately is the style of this blogger Vashtie. I like how she is so openly tomboyish. Like she will wear t-shirts and mesh shorts to some super hip event in NYC, and look like the coolest person there, I’m sure.
Allow me to illustrate with some photos from her tumblr.

hay (2009) (Taken with Instagram)Albany, New York 2012 (Lark Street Tattoo)<br />
LARK STREET TATTOO - one of my first after-school jobs. I got a job here when I was in 8th grade – true story. I worked there up until the Summer of my Freshman year at Art School. As a curious 13 year old, I loved going in there everyday to look at their Tattoo Flash and art books. I also had a crush on Bruce Kaplan, the owner, so I found myself in there a lot trying to get his attention. One day, to make use of an annoying kid like me and to get some tedious work done, they asked if I wanted to make a couple bucks tidying up a workstation.  I was taught how to clean grips and tubes and sterilize equipment. I was fascinated and excited with it all. As I came back, I was given more work and more duties…like drafting up tattoo artwork for clients and managing the shop. As Bruce says, “Vashtie could run her own tattoo shop with all the experience she has”. It was so unreal. Here I was this kid in a Catholic School Uniform hanging out in a tattoo shop everyday after-school. It must have looked so crazy, but everyone assumed I was Bruce’s daughter.<br />
The guys that worked there strangely became father figures to me, as I had rebelled from my own parents years prior (I also think that my parents still don’t know about me working there). They’d ask me “what did you learn in school today?” – something that my parents never asked me, but really made me think about the lessons taught (or mis-taught rather). Not only that, but they’d meet all the kids I hung out with to make sure they weren’t terrible. I also had to have a perfect report card to get anything pierced (ears only) and they told me I could only get tattooed when I was of legal age. I think working there took the appeal out of wanting one, because after being surrounded by amazing tattoo work, terrible tattoo trends and having a lot of ideas of my own – I ended up getting none…ever.<br />
They taught me about music, art, film, culture and fed me in a way that (no doubt) helped to create the girl that I am today.” /></a></p>

I think this is such a cool style.

If you notice in some of these pictures she is wearing these men’s type boots.

I have seen two vegan versions of these.

The first 1 is very expensive, as far as vegan shoes go, but it is from an all vegan company.

Worker Tan

Worker Black

From Brave Gentleman, an excellent store for vegan men that I just liked on facebook.

(by the way you can find me on facebook as well under My Non Leather Life).

These shoes are just totally awesome, and I desire them both.

However I have found another option from an unintentionally vegan store.

The second option is

AEO Rugged Lace-Up Boot - Free Shipping

American Eagle Rugged Lace Up Boot. Made of Polyurethane, with a canvas lining, and rubber soles.

Workman’s shoes.

Would you wear?

A Fantasy Vegan Shoe Wishlist …that could just turn into a Reality. And thoughts on the Coming of Fall

Hello my dearies,

It is almost fall. This shocks and horrifies me, as I have had one of the best summers of my life.

I have been having so much fun this summer.

I wear my vegan penny loafers almost every day, with jean shorts and a t-shirt, hipster teen style.

The ones I got I posted about on this blog, but they are sold out. So if you got them on my recommendation, awesome, and I’m sure you are having the time of your life wearing them. However for people who were not convinced by my post on how cool penny loafers are, I have found another vegan pair for you. This time they are being made in brown, navy blue, and pink, which is pretty cool, but be warned, they are not the most perfect replica of the classic preppy penny loafer, though they are pretty good.

Sometimes if I wear a dress or dressier outfit, I wear these really cool black old fashioned looking vegan sandals I have.

And for going out on the weekends, I usually wear a crop top, a black pleated skirt, and my short vegan strappy buckled heels.

It seems as if my life is complete, and so is my vegan shoe collection.

BUT NO.

Fall is coming, and my sister has stolen my favorite pair of vegan heeled clogs (they lookED like swedish hasbeens) I got last year from American Eagle Outfitters.

My Chelsea boots from Maraisusa disintegrated I wore them so much.

My Doc Marten oxfords give me blisters.

I need new shoes.

Here is my shoe wishlist.

1. Black Ankle Boots.

2. A cool pair of vegan sneakers that are hip hop-ping. See my previous post.

3. Real thigh high vegan boots that come really far up, but are flat (no heels), so as not to blow everyone’s mind with my hotness. ; ) I joke. I saw some girl wearing this with a short dress and it looked amazing.

4. Vegan Doc Marten high tops.

5. Off White converse high tops.

6. Chunky heeled fake suede mary janes. Always on the look out for these.

7. White fake suede BUCKS (as they call em).

Well that’s basically it. I now that sounds like a lot, but this is all in the mind.

8. I also want to find a small vegan purse for going out dancing, with a long strap.

9. And a big flouncy black vegan leather backpack with lots of pockets.

Well I’ve found one really cool pair of shoes from my list so far.

I love these. $34 from Old Navy and totally vegan. Womens Faux-Leather Ankle Boots.

These are very hip and I could definitely see some cool people on tumblr wearing these.

Ankle boots go with everything.

Also if you are in the market for some really cool sky high heels for wowing everybody at a party, check out nastygal.com and filter the shoe section by price. Remember my rule of thumb: the cheaper the shoe, the more likely it is to be vegan. And of course, always check the product details to see what materials it is made of.

I myself am dating someone only a few inches taller than myself and don’t want to tower over him by adding up to 8 inches to my height. Most of their shoes, with platforms are like 7 or 8 inches.Crazy! But there are some very avante garde looking vegan shoes over there which are sure to wow.

Anyway,

I hope you all have a great day!

And feel free to comment with any cool vegan shoe finds you have seen about the web, or any shoes on your fantasy vegan shoe wishlist.

G’DAY!!!

A Cool Vegan Blogger and her USE of Vegan Doc Martens

A very cool vegan blogger recently left a comment on my post about doc martens. Her blog thejoyofveganism is awesome. I find it very inspiring when people put so much info on veganism/vegetarianism out there into the “ether” i.e the net…in hopes of helping someone out there (and obviously for fun too) but not getting a lot of comments maybe. Also I find it inspiring when people are fashion bloggers…you have to be brave to put your person on display! Well someone appreciates it– from one vegan/vegetarian blogger to another…I love ur blog!

Here are some cool pics of her incorporating her vegan doc martens into outfits and also a pair of vegan converse.

The blog also contains a recipe for an amazing food item that I have been enjoying at whole foods and marveling at how good it tastes: avocado-kale salad. Here is her recipe for it and photo of it! I must make this daily.
